Melissa Cather

Vice President

Melissa has over 20 years of development experience and a demonstrated track record of executing comprehensive fundraising programs and large-scale events. Prior to joining TME, she served as the Director of Advancement for the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) and launched a campaign honoring the Chairman of the Board of Directors and oversaw fundraising and event logistics for the prestigious FNIH Award Ceremony.

Melissa was also a Vice President at Graham-Pelton Consulting, Inc. providing counsel to a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients in healthcare, academic and social service sectors across the country. She completed numerous development assessments, capital campaign studies and imbedded many fundraising strategies and resources within organizations.

A native of Massachusetts, Melissa started her fundraising career at UMass Memorial Hospital managing logistics for the 25th Anniversary Gala of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and spent seven years at Faulkner Hospital directing the annual fund, managing several events, engaging volunteer committees, and overseeing donor relations.  Before moving to Maryland, she was the Special Gifts Officer at Lahey Clinic managing a significant portfolio with focus on new prospect identification.

Melissa is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and past board member of the New England Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.  She is a graduate of Fordham University and holds a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.

Melissa lives with her husband in Linthicum Heights, MD.
