Casey Stein Rooney is a seasoned operations leader with more than fifteen years of expertise building and stabilizing mission-driven organizations. Casey has led and overseen the full operational ecosystem of nonprofit organizations, bringing a combination of strategic operations leadership, financial and HR fluency, systems thinking, cultural stewardship, and experience in board relations and executive support.
Casey comes to TME from Pathfinder International where she served as Senior Advisor, and from FACETS as Senior Director of Operations. Prior to that, she supported operations at Mount Sinai Health Partners, Callisto, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), and Safe Horizon. She earned her M.P.A. in Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from the NYU Wagner School of Public Service, and her B.A. from the University of Virginia in Psychology and Jewish Studies.
Throughout her career, Casey has operated as the connective tissue between executive leadership, boards, global staff, and external partners. She has repeatedly been entrusted with complex environments: growing organizations, organizational redesigns, compliance-heavy operations, multi-stakeholder boards, and moments requiring discretion, sound judgment, and calm execution.
Outside of work, Casey enjoys gardening, theatre, salsa-dancing, and discovering new playgrounds with her husband and two daughters.
