TME’s Favorite Moments of 2017
2017 was a record year for TaylorMade Experience (TME)! As we close 2017 and look forward to 2018, we have taken a little time to reflect on our favorite moments. From a surprise musical performance, to remarks that moved the audience to action, we are lucky to have had many unforgettable moments to choose from.
Here are the moments that left lasting impressions on each of us on the TME team.
Christina Taylor
“With so many great moments to choose from, I need two!
First, in 2017 I met and joined the Community Bridges Board of Directors. Community Bridges is doing wonderful work in the Silver Spring community, inspiring young girls to become strong, independent women. As a female business owner, it is an honor to be part of the organization.
A close second is meeting Whoopi Goldberg at the Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner! She is a rock star!”
Melissa Cather
“My favorite moment of 2017 were the personal testimonials and Mark Bergel’s speech at A Wider Circle’s Community Ball. The room was captivated by the remarks, the passion, and the motivation to eradicate poverty which led to an incredible night of giving. When guests heard the leading cause of poverty is birth – there was an undeniable reaction that sparked a movement.”
Juvale Regala
“My favorite has to be the ‘Make A Difference Gala’. This event meant a bit more to me given my circumstances in 2017. It was also my 1st event back with my TME ladies and it definitely gave me more of a reason to fight thru and get back to work!! Not to mention, Bob does a phenomenal job meeting his goal every year and for a great cause.”
Jacquie Bayer
“2017 was filled with amazing moments. One of the most memorable for me was the Adventist Healthcare Gala. I have some incredible nurses in my own family, so the “Compassionate Care, Healing Spirit” theme – really hit close to home. Also, I was born at Washington Adventist Hospital and delivered my son at AHC’s Shady Grove Medical Center. The whole event celebration was even more special because of my personal connections to the organization.”
Bethany Becker
“My favorite moment was during Christmas with the Redskins event when the drape was pulled aside and 40 volunteers came pouring into the ballroom with bags of presents for 180 underserved children. I have never seen so many excited faces, from both the kids and their adult sponsors!”
Amy Rubenstein
“My favorite moment of 2017 was during the Ripple of Hope Awards Dinner, when we surprised Harry Belafonte with a performance of We Are The World after he received the Ripple of Hope Award. It was a special moment, and a touching way to pay respect to a man who has done so much to advance civil rights in the United States.”
Melanie Demb
“My favorite moment from 2017 was watching Ima Black accept the Lone Sailor Award at the United States Navy Memorial’s Lone Sailor Awards Dinner. She accepted on behalf of herself and her late husband Delbert Black, the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. All of the former Master Chief Petty Officers of the Navy and their spouses were on stage to present her with this great Honor.”
Aliya Dean
“My favorite moment of 2017 was the Joan Hisaoka Make a Difference Gala. It was my first event as part of this team and it gave me a lot of insight into the team dynamic. It also reaffirmed how happy I am to not only be working with such an amazing group of women, but to also be working for such amazing causes!”
